These guys are really real, really

I found this podcast through an ad on the Clark Howard podcast and, for me, it is a breath of fresh air —a bit like wearing a comfortable old sweatshirt— you just don’t want it to end I love the humor and sound advice is they are really talking real money.

Just a listener

I've been listening to your podcasts for about a year usually when I'm on the treadmill while I'm at the gym. I like your investment philosophy and follow your advice with my portfolio. I would give you 5 stars but the constant overtalking and interupting each other (especially by Don) is a bit annoying. A little of that goes a long, long way. Other than that I love the podcast and keep up the good work. Thank you for the advice.

The best investing podcast there is!

I found these guys about 2 years ago, and I love listening to Don and Tom! Their financial advice is spot on and genuine. They are not selling any product, just helping people with investing. And they are funny, both in their own way. Tom comes with the dad jokes and Don with all the witty references. I will skip other podcasts when life gets busy, but I always catch up on Talking Real Money. These guys truly provide a public service that everyone should take advantage of!

Fun and factual

The humor is nice. The advice is sound. Callers’ questions are interesting and the answers straight forward. They also look up data like advisers fees on the air and give names and numbers. I don’t know anyone else that does that.

Great practical and no nonsense advice with lots of dad humor

I didn’t think I would like to hear two older gentlemen talking about finance and investment, but I sure do love listening to their podcasts. They are very knowledgeable about current financial and investment issues and provide their sound advice on what you should be doing to ensure that you can retire comfortably. In fact, I even reached out to speak with one of their advisors for a second opinion on investment portfolios being managed by a current financial advisor. I always look forward to listening to Don and Tom.

Great show

Found Don and Tom while listening to another personal finance show. Enjoy the way they present their material, to the point not too much in the weeds like some shows do sometimes. I currently enjoy handling my own investing but if I were to at some point want an advisor their type of organization would be exactly what I would look for.

Great but also frustrating!

Upfront, I really enjoy this financial podcast. It is overall very entertaining and informative. I have been listening to this podcast for several years. With that said, it is also one of the most frustrating and annoying podcast that I regularly listen to. Two of the weekly podcasts are replays of a weekend radio show they broadcast in the Seattle area. They are hosting the show while they are in remote locations. As a result, there is a noticeable digital delay between their conversations and those of their callers or guests. The result is that there is frequent talking over one another. For example, callers are not able to finish their questions before the hosts start speaking over them. The delay then creates an awkward jumbled conversation that is very annoying with a loss of what could be great and useful information to listeners. What’s even worse is they often don’t listen to the real question and go off on tangent, and as a result don’t answer the questions that are being posed by the callers. Just wish that they would take the time to produce a show where people can complete their thoughts or sentences and then the host or guest respond without being interrupted.

Content is update with academic literature and helps separate the cream from the garbage. This is the stuff you need to know to be successful and not get screwed by Wall Street. Highly recommended.

Every week Tom and Don hit it out of the ballpark with their masterful blending of insightful content and humor on a topic most of us don’t like to talk about - MONEY. Few aspects can make or break our lives than this one. Failing to master it can really lead to an unpleasant life, not to mention our final years.Kudos to them for being warriors and so giving of themselves to help each of us build a better life.

Currently subscribed to a dozen or so of the top podcasts, and they are the FIRST to recommend a market-cap globally diversified portfolio for long-term investing. Really solid advice for investments and entertaining, a hard combo to find nowadays. Highly recommended.

Tom and Don tell it like it is and help you understand how to invest your money wisely. No sales pitches. They genuinely care about your well-being. The world would be better if there were more people like the two of them. I’ve been investing (on my own) in the way they recommend for over 20 years and I’m very happy with the results.

Sober realistic $ advice

I'm really glad that I found this podcast. They must be joking that they only have a small audience. If that's true then a lot of people are missing out. It's frank, honest advice at a time when it's never been more critical.

Less joking, more info

I like this pod, but these guys get too joke-y. They think they are comedians. They have good info, but interrupt themselves consistently to say something they think is funny - yet, personal finances & investing are kinda serious. I hope they tone down the ha-ha(s). :-/

I’ve been wanting a show like this for years!

Don and Tom’s podcast is so informative while being so entertaining that even my husband, who was never interested in financial matters before, is listening to the shows with me. Honest investment advice from two financially knowledgeable, fun guys, but it’s way more than just finances they discuss. It’s about having a plan. The one drawback about this show is that I find it hard to stop listening!
