You can learn a great deal about investing from this podcast…if you can withstand the rapid-fire bad jokes, severely outdated references, thick-as-molasses sarcasm and regular tech issues. Update: Hearing you read my review on the show was comedy gold. I’m so glad you both took my review in the intended tongue-in-cheek tone. Right after, you transitioned into talking about some scam “back in the day” of selling pay phones. Pay phones?! You guys are killing me! Keep up the great work, Tom and Don… in that order. :)

They make investing simple

In between dry humor and bad dad jokes, Don and Tom give straightforward saving and investment advice to those of us who lack financial literacy as well as many super-investors that simply need a tweak in their portfolio. Either way - they always hit their goal of saving listeners money in fees and hidden commissions. I never skip an episode. (More Paul Merriman guest visits, please!!)

Refreshing and Magnetic!

Talking Real Money has a fresh and magnetic vibe- that’s RARE in the investment teaching space (at least for those teaching about REAL money). These guys are funny, knowledgeable, straight-forward, they keep it super light they’re prolific! They podcast dang-near 6 days a week, what?! Listening to Talking Real Money is a no-brainer- check ‘em out✅

Love this podcast!

I started listening to these two after they started doing regular podcasts with Paul Merriman, and I’ve been hooked ever since. Don and Tom are straight shooters who know what they’re talking about and give straightforward, honest, and helpful advice. I listen to their podcasts every day and I am also working my way through the older ones. I’ve learned a ton from them, they really help small/individual investors make smart decisions with their money. Highly recommended!

I’ve been listening to the podcast for 1.5 years now. Don and Tom are great! Not trying to sell you anything and they provide you with the knowledge for a great future. There is no better financial advice out there.

Nothing better

I came over from Spotify to review this podcast because I think there so great. I listen to this podcast daily and would do so all day long if I didn’t already listen to all of there episodes. Anyways, they are amazing and give some of the best advice there is to give. You may not like what they have to say because it’s goes against your beliefs, but in time you realize that they are just speaking truth. After listening to this podcast I feel grounded and secure. I no longer speculative trade and now I can sleep at night thanks to these guys. God bless.

Finally financial advice I can trust

I have followed the advice of many different types of investment theories and suggestions over the years, from stock picking to studying candlesticks to predict the market. Here are 2 guys that offer advice based on history and don’t claim to be able to predict the future. They are also personable and easy to listen to.

Only the best

If I only had one financial podcast to listen to, it would be Talking Real Money. I started off with Dave and Suzy, but then I found Talking real money and I knew this is the one. These old dudes don’t talk over your head, they make common sense and don’t predict the future. I have read several books from other podcasters and am waiting for a Tom and Don audiobook. By the way I’m an old dude too and appreciate your skills. Thanks

Servant Leadership

I’ve listened to this show since I heard it mentioned on another podcast who’s name involves putting 100 dollar bills into piles and I’ve been really pleased with what I’ve heard. I’ve probably listened to about 20 episodes since last weekend and they are truly entertaining and enlightening. I recommended this podcast to a group of 20 somethings at my firm who I was leading a financial well-being brown bag for because the information presented is clear, approachable, entertaining, and most importantly, rock solid. I’ve been looking for something like this since Bob Brinker retired and am glad I’ve found it. Thanks for what you’re doing and keep it up!

Honesty is hard to find!

Personal finance industry is loaded with dishonesty, hype, misinformation and scare tactics. I love how Tom and Don tell it like it is. They don’t try and sell you anything. They just try and give you honest simple advice and do it with a little humor.

Best financial podcast I have found

Don and Tom provide “real” financial advice. The information is logical and sound. Everyone should invest all their serious money according to the allocations and avenues they suggest. If you want to buy individual stocks only do it with money you are ok losing...just like playing a hand of blackjack or betting on a game. I asked a question on their website and it was answered thoughtfully on the air within a week. Really glad I found this podcast and will be telling family and friends about it. Keep up the great work guys. I listen everyday when I’m driving for work.

Best Investment Advice!

Looking for a simplified solution to invest your retirement money? This is the podcast to listen to and not worry about choosing the wrong investments. Great qualified advice from Tom and Don with many years of experience. They make it easy so even those without any knowledge or desire to spend hours of time researching which mutual funds to select, they will provide you with simple inexpensive funds to give you a well diversified portfolio. Only wish I would have discovered them years ago - it would have saved me some costly mistakes.
